Meeting Rosie the Pig
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukah to all Bloomfield RWC members, families, friends, and associates! It is always nice to take a break from the concerns of politics and enjoy personal time, no matter how you celebrate. The actual Bloomfield club meetings and events will take a hiatus until February. Until then many members are working behind the scenes to plan events for 2018 and prepare for next year’s mid-term elections.
Diane Bernier, Vice President in charge of setting up speakers for general meetings, was recently given a “behind the scenes” invitation. In her position, she has had opportunities that she never imagined, personal phone numbers given to her, home addresses of “political celebrities”, and from the November speaker, Bob Lutz, an invitation to his farm in Ann Arbor.
Diane wrote this experience; a day we won’t soon forget... Recently, Sharon White and I visited the amazing Lutz Farm. Bob Lutz graciously signed books not received until after our luncheon. Imagine being invited to meet Rosie, Mr. Lutz’s pig, living very comfortably in his kitchen! She was brought in when very small and has grown and grown...one very lucky girl!
You never know who the true celebrities will be!
Again, wishing everyone a wonderful Holiday Season and a Prosperous 2018!
